About Sayari Earth

Sayari Earth is a technology- and impact-driven nature-based carbon project developer working globally. Our mission is simple but urgent: we partner with people to sustain life on planet Earth. We use science, data, and deep community collaboration to develop high-quality carbon projects that restore ecosystems, improve livelihoods, and contribute to global climate resilience.

We’re Looking for a Data Scientist

We’re looking for a Data Scientist to help develop and maintain the data pipelines, analyses, and visualizations that support our nature-based carbon projects. You’ll work across spatial, ecological, AI/ML, and socio-economic datasets to inform decision-making, digital MRV, and impact reporting.

If you’re motivated by real-world conservation outcomes and enjoy turning complex data into clear, actionable insight, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Data Infrastructure & Management

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines and a centralized data repository for project operations and dMRV.
  • Support data quality, documentation, version control, and access management.
  • Assist with integrating spatial, ecological, AI/ML, and socio-economic datasets.

Analysis, Automation & Visualization

  • Build repeatable scripts/notebooks for data processing, QC, and reporting.
  • Produce maps, dashboards, and concise visuals for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay curious about new tools in remote sensing, machine learning, and geospatial analytics—and help test what’s useful.

Project & Carbon Methodology Support

  • Perform analyses for baselines, monitoring, and quantification workflows.
  • Help prepare structured, transparent datasets for audits and verifications.
  • Contribute to documentation supporting carbon standards (e.g., Verra, Plan Vivo).

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

  • Work closely with Science, Ecology, Partnerships, and Field Teams to understand data needs and improve workflows.
  • Share tips, examples, and light training materials that help teammates use data tools confidently.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Informatics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • ~2 years’ hands-on experience with data analysis in a professional or research setting. High potential graduates will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with databases/data pipelines (e.g., PostGIS, SQL, or workflow orchestration).
  • Proficiency in Python or R for data processing and analysis.
  • Ability to communicate technical results clearly to mixed-discipline teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with integrating PowerBI (or similar visualisation tools) with geospatial data beneficial.
  • Experience with QGIS, ArcGIS, or similar geospatial tools advantageous.
  • Experience with Google Earth Engine and/or cloud environments (AWS, GCP).
  • Exposure to remote sensing (e.g., Landsat, Sentinel, SAR) and time-series analysis.
  • Knowledge of carbon methodologies or climate project data workflows.
  • Familiarity with biodiversity, land-use, rangeland, or agricultural datasets.
  • Experience collaborating with field teams and cross-cultural partners.

Don’t meet every single point? Research shows some candidates hesitate if they don’t check every box. If this role excites you and you bring strong adjacent skills, we encourage you to apply.
